New Trunk Struts... Sorry Can't Search.

Hey all...

Apologies because I can't figure out the search function and I can't find it.

But a while back there was thread on trunk struts going bad.

I bought them from Ebay.

Now. I'm looking for the thread on how to install them???

Thanks in advance.

Can you figure out how to go back 1 or 3 pages to check?

No.

Actually, I can't.

I found this thread:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...nk-struts.html

But other than that, can't figure out where it's at.

I'm asking for help.

I'm asking if anyone knows how to put on those struts.

I'm sure there's a thread in here somewhere. It seems to be a common problem.

But if not, that's cool. Does anyone here know how to install them?

Hi ghfoto.

The Search feature is available only after you've logged in, and is the sixth item in the above blue menu bar.

However, there really isn't a good step-by-step thread for trunk struts. I think that's because it's an easy job once you get the parts and see what has to be removed and replaced. The only tools needed are a small screwdriver (to hold down the clips) and something to hold the trunk open.

Hope that helps.

Thanks everyone!

1. Prop open trunk with a broom handle or something equivalent
2. Using a flat heat screwdriver, pry loose the metal retaining clip on the outside of the old strut where it connects to the trunk
3. Pull the strut away from the trunk
4. Repeat for the bottom of the strut
5. Take new strut and snap onto the "ball" at the top of the trunk, from which you removed the prior struct.
6. Repeat for the bottom of the strut.
DONE
