Default The one run flat question never asked..

I know everyone hates the run flats, but I want to run flat when flat.
Having said that, which one is now officially the quietest, best riding run flat.
there must be one, its almost 2009 and they have been out a while!
One of us must still be on the run flats....

I'm rolling with some Potenzas that came with the vehicle since I got it this past summer, but I've heard good things about the Yokohama tires, look those up, other members should have other recommendations tho.

I have stayed with the runflats for the last 4 years. I have changed the wheels to a staggered set but stayed with the 18" rim size to have access to RF tires. On the car there was originally the Potenzas. They were hard and tramlined horribly. I now have Dunlop 5000s on the front. These are softer and steer much better. On the back I had Michelin PS1's from the Viper. They were great in the hot dry weather but are terrible in the wet less than 10 degrees C. I now have Michelin Pilot A/S ZPs 275/40-18's. These ride like a normal tire and are good in the cold wet climate. Hope this helps.

You need to also remember that all run-flats are not created equal in their ability to ... run flat. Some can only go fifty miles. Some can go 100. Some can be repaired after running flat, some can't.

I just got the Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S run flats this summer and like them much better than the OEM Bridgestones. Much cheaper too. (Discount Tire carries them.)

yikes, heres a review of those tires on the site:

This is a great tire if you are deaf. My Lexus SC430 sounds like a dump truck, the road noise is terrible. The Pirelli P Zero M&S will trick you since there is no road noise for the first 5,000 miles. By 10,000 you will be blaming the noise on alignment or bad wheel balance. By 15,000 your vehicle will sound like a logging truck riding on snow tire retreads.

are you at 10000 miles yet?

You're right about the Pirelli P Zero Nero M+S RFTs. They were great when I got them new but after 4000 miles, I'm hearing a lot of road noise. Don't even know if they'll do well in mud and or snow as advertised. They slip a little on a wet slippery upslope where I live and VSA kicks in.
