Cell phone antennas & the SC430
Does anyone have a solution for an external antenna for cell phones? Clearly, you can't mount one on the back glass.
I've considered the Micro Mag w/ Sputnik ground plane, and suction cup mounting it to the wind deflector, but I'm concerned about visibility issues (not to mention having it fly off at unfriendly speeds).
I have a fat shark-fin looking antenna, but I haven't attached it to the front glass -- too ugly for such a pretty car.
Your input is appreciated.

Just an antenna that isn't part of the phone itself.

No attack intended.
Actually, check out these antennas:

The CFR-904 has a nice low profile, but of course any glass-mount antenna is useless when the top is down.
BTW, here's the Micro Mag & Sputnik.
It's not the manufacturer's site, but has good info:

Here's the RangeStar Dashmate I have:
http://www.discountcell.com/cellular/pcsdashmate.asp
It does offer a 5dBi gain, and I've seen a 10dBi improvement in some areas. While it's bulky, it outperforms most.
I gave in this morning and put it on the dash. Better to make one phone call than several and apologize for dropping them.
