I searched my archive of loose screws, after much torture, I was able to install 2 similar screws, not sure of the exact size. I am going to order from Lexus some replacement back-up screws just in case the ones I put in fall out.
Now the Seat Back now stays up! Also, this was a good time to put some Dupont Krytox on the Power Seat Rails!

had the same issue right after I purchase my SC430. Found two screws on the rear floor and had no idea where they belonged. When I changed the leather last month, I figured out where they belonged when I saw the location of the missing screws. I had no idea this was a common problem, until now.

Good to know. Now I know where to look if or when I find the loose screws (the ones in my car, not my head...)

Default **Update on more Screws Missing**

Ok,

Well, after replacing the 2 missing passenger Botton screws, this past weekend, I said to myself, better check the Passenger side Drivers Seat for missing screws!!!! Unreal, both were missing!! I purchased this car from a older Gent, he had his Lexus SC430 serviced in Oklahoma City at Lexus. My guess is maybe the dealer when they replaced recall Airbags just decided or forgot to put them Back. I don't believe how can all the bottom screws where missing on both of my Seats! Not trying to make a big deal about it, but those screws are not small. Sorry to say, but even the Dealers can make mistakes~~That said, anytime service is done to my Car, I will check to make sure they did not leave off any parts. It's like building models, if a part is left over, you did not follow directions!

Same for the Engine area, this car has under 15K MILES, When I went to detail the engine, I noticed in 3 places had missing plastic anchors, clips, screws in the Engine Bay...That older Gent was faithful to that Dealer, in the long run he got sub par service!

I have yet to pick my Lexus Dealer in NC, I have 2 to choose from, Hendrick Charlotte or Hendrick North Lake! One member said North Lake Dealer treats him very well!

the airbag recall was for the passenger dash airbag, not the seat.

I personally think the screws may have vibrated out on there own.

Was a busy weekend working on SC issues! So the noise in the Drivers Seat for sure was the Clips that are crimped on the Springs!!! Here is what I did:

1-Removed Seat back
2-Put Felt behind all Clips and Springs
3-Put Felt near the Cable that works the manual tilt
4-Crimped each Clip to make sure they are not loose
5-Sprayed all Clips with Gunk Silicone Spray, has no oder
6- Lubed with Krytox the large Gear on the right side of the Seat
