Car's still the star!
 

Just got back from San Diego Auto Show. The largest crowd by far was at the Lexus turntabled red/ecru (same as last year) SC 430. Could not get within 3 rows of people to see the top go up and down. I became more aware than ever of the fantastic features of this car. In dash 6 cd changer. Mark Levinson stereo. Sports coupe...morphs into a sporty convertable. Perhaps the most beautiful interior of any car. 300 hp. 325 lbs ft torque. 18' wheels. and on and on.
By comparison the new SL was almost ignored.
The new BMW 7 series was busy, as was the beautiful Austin Martin. Most Mercedes interest was with the AMG's. Lots of prestigeous performance in those. People seemed to dream about AMG ownership, but not about the regular cars.
