Well, I have been looking for the SC430 for 3 months, white on white, 2006 up. I had just discovered the ISC250, which I did not know existed until two months ago, and found it in the royal blue with white seat covers. LOVED IT with the top down, and disappointed with the top up. Looked like a big blue monster with any visible lines to break it. Visa versa then, I found the 430 SC white on white. Having driven the ISC250, it seemed much more sporty, and the V8 and poor gas mileage along with the more sedan feeling of 430SC left me cold.

I gave up on the blue IS, which I may be sorry for, and started looking for the IS white on white but could not see one hereby. I ended up ordering it from Pennsylvania sight unseen. I like the white one with the top up, and feel it is boring with the top down. Looks like a car that J Lo would drive because its butt is just too big, and the sides to high. I feel like I have been placed in a can, kind of. The car with color seems to lose it distinctive lines when the tops are up. The lines of the car stand out on the white car (it also looks a little fat). I am really disappointed, and my car is only 48 hours old at this point. I am going from a Miata and I think I moved to the Daddy car when I was trying to move up slower to the Momma car. I keep looking at it trying to love it!

ISC, especially ISC350, has a lot going for it compared to SC. It has all the modern features like key fob, parking assist and better MPG etc, not to mention it can seat four comfortably. Personally, I think its biggest drawback is its mixing up with other IS cars like a 2006 IS 250, which is indistinguishable from a 2015 ISC350 if you look from the front.

I made the huge mistake of trading my 2009 Pebble Beach SC430 in for a 2-year old, immaculate IS350C with 10K miles. It only took me a couple of weeks to realize that the IS350C, while a nice enough car, was not even in the same league as the SC430. Sure, it had a backup camera, integrated blue-tooth streaming audio, etc., but it just didn't have the luxurious feel/presence that the "flagship" SC430 has. The 3.5L V6 engine was quicker than the 4.3L V8, but it just didn't have the same sound or feel. The interior was loaded with plastic parts (vs wood and leather covered surfaces), and the look of the car with the top up was very "meh" in my opinion. It's really hard to describe the intangible feeling I get from my SC430, but it's very real, and I ended up selling my IS360C a month after I bought it to go back to the SC430 world. I am now convinced I'll be an SC430 owner for the rest of my life, and I found the cleanest, lowest mileage specimen available to ensure the car will last as long as possible.

Actually, when I drove SC430 and IS350C I felt SC430 was a little quicker and smoother in acceleration. Though IS350C gets from 0 to 60 faster than SC430 the torque on SC is quite a bit more than IS350: 317 lb ft vs 277 lb ft.

and the only substitute for cubic inches is more cubic inches!

bigger is better...if your worried about fuel economy, drive a hybrid!

Totally agree. I get it Lexus trying to have their entire line up has the same styling, just like how BMW cars they all have that similar type of grill. I just do not like it. I want my (top of the line) car to look different than the other (lower tiered) car.

And yes, gas mileage sucks. It got v8, not inline 4 in a Corolla. You do not buy this car for gas mileage Personally I would rather have larger engine and more hp than smaller engine, but I do not drive this car 20 miles everyday to work.

Its curious IS350C with the same weight and transmission as SC yet less torque manages to have a faster 0 to 60 specs than SC (5.3sec vs 5.8sec). My guess is that IS being a sport car rather than a luxury cruiser like SC is programmed to shift every gear at a higher RPM than SC, thus having a noisier and sportier feel.
