It can mean a lot of things on the car. I dont know too much about the SC430, but if it's like my 2nd gen GS, the ABS/VSC/VSC off light may go on if the ABS sensor is malfunctioning, or if the brake master cylinder/ABS unit on the car is having problems. I'm beginning to think the lights are universal. Anything related to the ABS or VSC system will light up those lights just to warn you that you're losing those functions. If your car seems to drive fine, just try to reset the codes in the instructions provided above. If all else fail you'll just have to get the car scanned.

You'll probably end up being right, GSteg... maybe Pearlpower too. I just thought it was a good place to start, knowing how little he drives it... and that he recently had a code scan.

1NICESC430, leave the battery disconnected (the negative lead) for at least 5 minutes. You'll have to redo your seat memory and your radio stations afterward.

Update ....

The local Toyota dealer (who's been trying to get a Lexus franchise for many moons) worked on the car. They did a scan and verified that the original problem, the oxygen sensor is indeed bad. Hmmmm ... let's see, Autozone, a mechanic, and Autozone again scanned it and they all reported the same thing.

First, they had problems getting the old sensor off because the mechanic who originally tried to do it rounded the nut edges so the proper tool was useless. So they put heat on it, used some sort of vise-grips, and got it off. Unfortunately, the threads were left behind which, according to the service manager, is always a possibility. They were able to manipulate a die cutter to cut new threads without removing the manifold and installed the new sensor. Only $350 labor!

Oh yeah ... need service on a Lexus? Labor rate is $116.69/hour at this Toyota dealer. Got a Toyota? It's $89.17/hr.

Regarding the VSC/VSC OFF/ABS warning lights, they tell me the code scan does not return any information about the VSC or ABS systems. I guess they'll have to diagnose it another way. I did disconnect the battery's negative terminal for about an hour or so, but it didn't have any effect on the lights.

I'm not sure if I want to go back to that Toyota dealer for the diagnosis. I really resent the idea of paying a higher labor rate for my car when there's no indication that their mechanics are Lexus-trained. Unless I hear a damn good argument otherwise, I pretty much feel screwed.

One more thing, lest I leave the impression that the service manager was some kind of ogre, he actually turned out to be a very congenial and helpful guy.

Default ABS, VSC, TRAC Lights On

I have a 2002 LX470 that has the same problem (ABS, VSC, TRAC lights are all on). My local Lexus Dealership just told me that the Front Right Wheel Sensor is malfunctioning. They are quoting me $600 plus part. Does anybody know if that sounds about right.... or am I getting ripped off?

My RS 350/2005 does the same, almost since I bought it. VSC, ABS, Brake lights are always on. Twice, I almost lost controls while driving on snow.

Do they hook up your car to a machine in California, or did they not go that far because your dash lights are on? The VSC/ABS lights shouldn't affect your emissions.

Do you have any picture of the damage to your car, so we can see what parts were impacted?

I agree it might be the wheel sensor. You can take off your tire and follow the wires to the sensor. You can make sure the wires are connected and not broken.

A wheel sensor is about $350,

but you can find new toyota ones for about $200 on ebay https://www.ebay.com/p/8954330160-Ge...0160/657801061

Make sure u get the right one, I think the ads I posted are for the LH side

As far as tire pressure sensors, that is definitely an option.

As far as Wheel Speed sensors go, those are kind of mandatory for your ABS/VSC system to work.
