Look in the trunk of the car, towards the back there is a cover (looks like a cargo cover)

reach towards the back of the trunk and grab that handle and extend it all the way until you fit it into the groovs.

then once you have placed thhe cover into the approperiate groovs,
close the trunk,
get in the car and try the button.

Let us know if you have any other problems

Also, make sure the trunk is securely closed before pressing the button. That will also cause a red light blink.

Same thing happened to me. Bought the car and got it home and the G.D. Roof wouldn't open. I got out the owners manual and read it and put the cargo cover in place and everything worked fine.

When all else fails read the manual................................................

Default Updating Navigation

My wife's 2002 nav quit working, also, and it turned out to have the first version. The mechanic loaded the latest version and it worked perfectly! Good luck.

Yep Grab a Saudi version from your local Toyota Dealership and that should help. My dad imported his out in Kuwait and he had the same problem

Tim,

Would you really be saving that much if you bought one in the US?

Way to rub it in that our economy stinks! If we weren't wasting a trillion on the war, maybe things wouldn't be so bad.

But I digress. On the one hand, your emission and safety standards are not stricter than ours, so that is a major hurdle that you won't have to worry about. On the other hand, it can't be easy to re-title a car in a foreign country.

Have you considered talking to an auto importer in Canada? At least here in the states, there are private importers who cut through the red tape and handle the paperwork for a fee.

Default Canadian Standards are Toughter

Actually, US bumpers have to be rated at 5mph, Canadians at 8mph (at least last time a brought a car into the US from Canada). Emissions are different, too. Most cars are made to a US spec, so they're fine in both countries, you just need a letter from the manufacturer stating so. Finally, Canadian cars require daytime running lights -- my '06 SC has them, not sure about earlier years.
