given the super mild hp increase on the tom's supercharger, i doubt if you need to rebuild your engine/tranny

congrats on finding it

Let me help you out here man, before you blow ton of loot on a a Supercharers that MIGHT add 100HP. Here's where it's at...

$7900 for the turbo kit, lifetime warranty on the manifolds, and it just might give you a lot more than a 100HP increase. If you're building the motor and trans, you might as well make it worth your while.

Kevin @ MVP will have more info if you're interested.

Keep in mind that the Toms supercharger kit has been tested at a peak of only 75hp. A set of headers, LSD with gears, exhaust, piggyback ecu, TC, and intake will give you better lap times IMO in the 1/4 though the blower should do well top end.
The other option is the discontinued RMM blower which sold around 3-5k and can provide up to 380 RWHP with smaller pulleys.
Not trying to bust your dream, just laying out of the options for you. If you get it by all means post your results as well as dynos and I would like to see some definite numbers vs. what has been posted in the past.

Pearl's got it dead on.

The first question would be what are your HP goals?

That setup is awesome. I love twins on a V8.

Wow!!!!:woot:
I have been following your progress on the build, what an amazing job you are doing.

I don't think the SC guys quite understand that this is a Toyota 4.6 liter Twin Turbo V8 masterpiece, with a custom intake-mani heavy duty internals and stroked.

Can we drop it in my car and do some testing? LOL

Its a quote like that that makes me doubt what you are talking about.:uh: Its not a "thing in the picture". $7900 is about right if you get all the exhaust piping, intake piping, intercooler, turbos, wastegates, manifold, injectors, etc. Especially with a lifetime warranty on manifolds. You will never get a complete built motor for $7900 even without a turbo system. It takes a lot of R&D to get systems like this to work, fit, & last. JMHO. Besides doesnt the TOMS supercharger cost something like $10,000.

c0wboy Jan 27, 2008 07:20 AM

The Toms cost $13000, and adds around 70HP.

That is horrible. Nitrous would get you more than that and cost 20 times less.

You guys are all messed. Tom's isn't selling horsepower, they're selling "Factory like" performance increase with stock like drive ability.

Caoboy Jan 27, 2008 08:06 AM

That's a cute turbo kit.
