Default Infrequent Use - Battery Help

I use my SC 430 for weekend driving, and there are times when the car sits for 2, 3 or even 4 weeks at a time. Many times, the battery is dead when I am ready to drive, so I have to re charge (read: waste time). I use a Schumacher charger.
Question: Is is safe and/or recommended to simply leave the car "plugged in" and charging while not in use? Or will this damage the car/battery in some way?

I think you want a battery "tender" for long time use, rather than a battery "charger."

A good battery charger should be able to do a floating maintenance charging and be connected for months without any issue. Also, a good battery like Optima should be able to hold the charge longer.

I only put less than 2000 miles on my car this year so far. And sometimes it just sits inside my garage for more than a month without being driven.

I have an Optima RedTop and a CTEK 3300 battery charger (haven't put it in use yet).

Default Make sure nothing is plugged into the cigarette lighters

I would have this happen to me and this would happen if I left my iCarPlay Plus Wireless FM Transmitter/Charger for iPod plugged in. So, I would have a fully charged iPod, but a dead battery.

The 12v socket in the compartment between the seats is switched with the ignition -- no chance of running down the battery.

The Battery Tender is a charger it goes into a floa mode when its charged. I've used it for about 9 years on my cars and motorcycles.
You shouldbe ok w/ the Tender Jr.
