Default tire squaking from 1st to 2nd

Today a new SLK 350 drove past me with an automatic transmission. I guess it had the semi automatic in it. When it went from 1st to 2nd the tires let out a small squeel and you could just see the power.
I have almost red lined my 06 sc before up shifting between 1st and 2nd and 2nd and 3rd and not a sound comes out. I guess the base SLK has more???

Lexus also retards timing during shifts to make them smoother.

that's mainly the reason why. lexus programs the timing of the tranny so it shifts slower, creating a smoother and quieter shift, so it's hard to chirp tires from 1st to 2nd

To answer your question, yes, that little V6 SLK will easily smoke you every time, so spare yourself from the embarrassment next time. Much better power-to-weight ratio; it's almost a second quicker to 60, I believe. Later.

I've read in the mag's that our SC430's did 0-60 in 5.8 seconds and the SL500 does it in 6.1 seconds. So you are saying that the little V6 SLK does it in 4.8 seconds.

the slk350, probably low 5, don't think they can go high 7, that's probably slk55 speed

all these speed spec they vary a bit anyway

Never seen the SC quoted below 6.2 on major magazines. And even at that, I would NEVER subject my car to the abuse needed to reach that figure (imagine to get 5.8?). The SLK is 5.3 I believe.
But forget about the darn numbers (geez); the SLK smokes our SC all day long; that's the bottom line.
