Right on! Being new to the forum I did not notice the posting date until after I replied. However, the CarCapsule is an outstanding way to protect an automobile if you store it for months on end.

You are right on! Being new to the forum I did not notice the posting date until after I replied. But, the CarCapsule is a great way to protect an automobile if you plan on storing a car for any length of time. No dust, no rodents, and nothing can "accidentally" hit/touch it.

There are pretty good generic car covers around. I bougth a set at Costco one time and they fit well on the SC, will take a photo and post soon.

There is also a big merged thread on the subject - check out the thread "FAQ - SC430 Car Cover - Which one? (Merged threads)"

I just ordered the OEM one myself after reading the reviews.

Welcome!

I've found an interesting one that covers the covertible top only.

I'm not sure I even see the point in covering only the top of a convertible with a metal top. I certainly don't see sedans and coups with only their tops covered.

Just an FYI...these types of covers are meant for when the top is down! That way the interior is protected from the sun, dust, etc. I had one for my S2000. I plan on getting one for the SC430 as I would like to just keep the top down at the office on a good day instead of working the top more than I have to. It also keeps the interior cooler.

I'm not sure why in the picture this person has it on with the roof up???

Not sure but I think it was made to be used with the top up. Check the seams and cutout for the side mirror. Looks like a great replacement for the windshield sunblock - it blocks the sun getting in anywhere, and it's not nearly as cumbersome as a whole car cover. I'd sure think about getting one depending on the price.

Trust me their main purpose is for top down say at a car show or the office. They can also be used with top up for keeping the car cool, but that's a lot of work to just keep the car cool.

It's like the old tonneau cover you would put over your open TR6, only without the rakish touch of English upper class inconvenient elegance.
