Apart from needing a 45 profile, I'm open to anything that does not rub. 18, 19, 20's & 8, 9, 10, 11 inch wide etc... I was thinking 18 for cost, but would like to go as wide and a s close as I can.

I was looking to get a set of ASA AR 1's in Germany and was hoping that a wheel expert would be able to advise me on a good offset for the fronts and rears, i.e. what's the reasonable max I can go, considering it's going to be a 45 profile tyre and the wheel will be seeing a full range of suspension travel.

The tire will probably a be a wallet stretching Federal SS595 tire, of which I had good experience before. I really want to fill the arches properly but with no rubbing issues. I have seen the great chart, but am convinced that it does not take into account a mad Irishman wanting to up the profile of the tire...

Hoping for a little bit of guidance on this issue for me. Thanks in advance and a free pint of Guinness if I meet you. I'll be in Boston MA all next week by the way.
If you must have the tires on 45 profile, then you should downsize your rims to 17" (within specs) or stay with 18" (over specs).
19" or above with 45 tires will make you sc look even more like a SUV especially the ride height of your sc will be lifted by at least 1" or more as the rims go bigger.

Hey guys, I am hoping somone here could give me some help on this. Thanks in advance.

I am currently running the normal setup of 245/35/19 front (19x8.5 Offset 40) and 275/30/19 (19x9.5) with a set of coilovers (unknown brand as they came with the car). Due to the fact the tires are up for replacement, I am running into 3 choices.

1) Off from my friend's Panamera stock 19" tires. They are 255/45/19 front and 285/40/19 rear. Are they too big for my SC430? Are those gonna fit and not rub?

2) A used set of 20's from a guy locally. Front: 245/20/20 (20x9.5 offset+45) & Rear: 275/30/20 (20x10 offset +35)
Same conerns, Are they too big for my SC430? Are those gonna fit and not rub?

3) Also from a guy locally. Used set of 20x8.5 offset +38 & 20x9.5 offset+38 and I'll get a set of Hankook V12 245/30/20 all round from TIrerack. Is that a good setup in terms of Rims offset and tire size?

Thanks to all!!!

Hi talwang,

I found your fitment table very useful. Thank you.
In consider I have an agressive drop with my coilovers (1/4 of the tire edge stick in the fender for front and rear), how many mm of "wheel spacer fitment" can get me the best flush without rolling the fenders for front and rear? Please correct me if wrong, my understanding is adding 33mm "spacers" for front and 45mm spacers for rear is the max (or best) as per your table.

Your advise is much appreciated as I am currently looking for a new set of 20's rims/tires for my SC

Thanks so much dude.

Knowing most members here don't buy custom wheels, it is more practical to show you a range of offsets for a given width that will fit the SC430.

Assume members want a better wheel fitment when they decide to get rid of their oem wheels, so +45 would be the highest offset for any given wheel width below.
When you shop for a new set, try to choose an offest that is close to the lowest number in the specified range in order to get the best fitment.
That is, the LOWER the offset, the MORE aggressive the wheel fitment for a given width.
I keep mentioning width and offset at the same time since both are needed in order to determin the lateral, or side to side, position of the wheel.

The wheel spacer fitment info is added for your reference.
For example, the fitment of 9.5" +30 in the front would look like adding 33mm spacers to your oem wheels while 9.5" +35 would look like adding 33-(35-30)= 28mm spacers.

Also, the setups recommended below should require no fender mods or stretched tires.

(1) 255/45/19 front and 285/40/19 rear are 2"+ over oem specs.

(2) you meant 245/35/20, right? I don't think they make 245/20/20. 245/35/20 and 275/30/20 are what most members have here. 1" over oem specs.

(3) 20x8.5 offset +38 & 20x9.5 offset+38 are conservative for the sc430. 245/30/20 is within oem specs, but the ride quality sucks. I prefer 245/35/20 and 275/30/20.

yup, that is pretty much what the fitment table suggests.
However, even the oem setup will rub if you lower your sc too much.

Thanks so much for your reply talwang.

I think I'll go for option 2 or 3.
BTW, (2) my typo. It should be 245/30/20 and 275/30/20. Understand ride will be rough with the 245/30/20, might stick with that until it's time for new tires and get a set of 245/35/20 if they don't rub.

Thanks to everyone for all of the great info in this thread. I've read over it multiple times, and I think I'm finally ready to take the plunge on after-market wheels. But just to make sure, can someone with a similar stance confirm this set up will work without any rubbing or requiring any fender modifications?

F: 19x8.5 +30 on 245/35/19
R: 19x9.5 +25 on 275/30/19

According to the offset calculator, the Front should be out 21 mm, which probably can go another 5 or 10 before being flush, but being the turning wheel, I'm OK with it being slightly recessed. The Rear should be out 39 mm, which is almost flush, especially with the 275.

Any thoughts on using a 225/40 up front and 255/35 in the back to get a more stretched look?

I plan on lowering on Megan EZ at the same time, but only about 1/2" or so, due to my sloped driveway that already scrapes the front flap at the step by the drainage. Don't know if I can ever put a front fender kit on there...

Thanks for everyone's contribution to this!

Well i didnt do it and kept with the standard. F8.5" 245/35/19 R10" 285/39/19. I also decided to go with the Michelin Pilots vs the Conti's becuase the handling is rated better and should go better with the suspension modes.

Default Need new tires (no run flats)

My 2003 SC430 needs all new tires.

I don't want the run flats anymore (harsh ride), so the dealer recommended the Michelin Pilot Sport.

I have the TRD aftermarket 18 inch wheels on the car.

Is this the best tire for the car. They have a special buy 3 get 4th free and 99.00 alignment special.

My wife is the main driver so high speeds and cornering is not a big factor, however I do like to open it up now and then.

Your thoughts?

TIA

Make sure they are A/S All Season as summer tires should only be used for summer. Check Tire Rack for prices and milage ratings. I like Continental ExtremeContact DWS (Ultra High Performance All-Season) for under $644/4

I just got the Michellin A/S from Tire Rack. 19" diam staggered. They were certainly pricier than the Conti's but the guy at tire rack said that because I like to take the corners fast and upgraded my suspension, that I would be dissapointed with the DWS which was my first selection. I'll post a picture that shows the fitment.

Default 2013 g37s coupe wheels on sc430

Hi all, new to the forum but i already see many people having the same problem as i do. This week i put 19" 2013 g37s rims and tires on my sc430 and get a little shaking in my steering wheel when approaching 50-60 mph. Can somebody help explain why this is happening?

Your issue might be a little different from others'.
You need wheel hub rings as the wheel bore sizes of Lexus and Infiniti are totally different.
