Default brake slipping

On my 2002 while breaking to a stop, just before complete stop, there is a growling noise along with a quick slip in breaking and peddle.

Also both "VSC" AND "VSC OFF" are on and do not respond to the VSC button.

Time to get your break serviced. The growling noise is your break sensor warning. The warning lights may indicate other problems.
Take the car to the mechanic. Don’t ignore the symptoms.

the same thing happened to me right after I had front end work...I pulled the brake sensor, one bolt...wiped some grease off the sensor and the problem went away and has never returned.
let us know what happens.
