If so, I suggest the problem may lie in your hands, not with the wheel.

I've taken many long trips in my SC430 over the past 4 years, including an 11 hour ride last summer practically non-stop, and have never had any problems with the wheel, my hands, or even my very tender backside.

Nor have I even heard the question raised before.

Perhaps you need to loosen up your grip.

What part of the wheel do you find yourself gripping the most? I have this same wheel in my SC3 and I've found it to be very ergonomic.

Sometimes I do catch myself gripping the hell out of it on my more spirited drives.

Like mentioned before you are just gripping it too hard or on a strange place (maybe on the wood portion that's harder?).

i naturally just grab the 10 and 2 oclock position where the thumb **** is. best for handling the car and it's pretty comfortable
