Chicago Auto Show - 2005
The 2005 Chicago Auto Show is now the largest in the world with 1.2 million square feet. nearly 1,000 vehicles and an estimated 1.2 million attendance. It runs from February 11-20 at McCormick Place.
While they were no existing or proposed "Special Edition" SC 430 roadsters on display, the highlights were on two "CONCEPT" vehicles. They are:
Lexus LF-C: Lexus Future Coupe/Convertible with following features:
Convertible Hardtop with 4-position Glass Roof (Coupe, Targa, Speedster & Fully-open Convertible); One-touch button operates Convertible Hardtop; Front-mounted V8 engine; Rear wheel drive; 6-Speed sequential shift automatic transmission; 21-inch rear wheels with 285/30ZR21 tires; 20-inch front wheels with 235/35ZR20 tires; Cross-drilled front and rear disc brakes; Retractable rear view cameras (instead of mirrors on the doors); Rear view camera on bumper (instead of inside rear view mirror); Rear view cameras display their images on the dashboard screen; Machined crystal tail lamps with LED lighting technology; Suede-trimmed bucket seats; 3-Dimensional guage cluster; Translucent crystal center console and door trim with blue backlighting; Drive-By-Wire steering; Formula One inspired steering wheel and shifter.
Lexus LF-A Super-Premium Sports Car Concept with the following:
500+ horsepower; Top Speed: Approximately 200 miles per hour; Radiators positioned at each rear corner; Underbody air diffusers; Center mounted triple exhaust pipes; 10-spoke 19-inch wheels with 245/40ZR19 front tires and 285/35ZR19 rear tires; Cross-drilled brake rotors; Panorama glass roof; Rear view camera (instead of mirrors) on each door; Steering wheel mounted paddle shifters; Carbon fiber/leather-trimmed steering wheel; Form-fitting sport seats; Length: 173 inches; Width: 73 inches; Height: 48 inches; Wheelbase: 103 inches.
Both concept vehicles had a silver exterior finish.
