It can actually hold a lot of stuff.
You know, it's off-topic, but that's been my biggest surprise about the SC... the amount of room that we actually DO have in the trunk. I was expecting to not be able to put ANYTHING back there, but you can actually get quite a bit more back there than I ever expected, especially when you have the top up.
A flat tire issue is not only if you go out of town. Who wants to bother with a flat at 9 or 10 pm at night, on your way to a social event? Or at any time, for that matter? The little times I use the car, I expect to get where I'm going at the time I have scheduled my arrival; period. At least for me, that has higher priority than a slightly better ride.
And yes, just like the C5 vette, the SC has the provision for a spare; I guess somebody posted a picture already. And yes, it eats all the trunk.
The problem with this car is it was initially designed for normal tires (shocks, primarily), then switched to the latest technology without making revisions... until '05. My ex-'03 vette rode way better than the Lex, so I don't believe for a second it's a tire issue alone. I'll look into adjustable aftermarket shocks soon.
Have a great weekend everybody.

I always wondered how that would work. Thanks for the picture. I couldn't imagine it fitting back there. They made it work and look nice, but MAN... not a stitch of room for anything else.

Good assessment. As one of the auto mags wrote, the SC suspension isn't "happy" with the runflats. That makes for a rough ride. The shocks sound like a good way to go.

BTW congrats for your new RL

Thanks, SexySC. Please don't say that. My colleagues at the office already call me "automotively promiscuous"!
I actually kept my QX4 for 2 years. (Go figure... the least desirable vehicle I've ever owned!) Anyway, I've got to settle down soon.
Even if that means hanging onto the Infiniti and Acura for a while I'll still be visiting CL regularly. Once a Lexus fan, always a Lexus fan!

Yeah .. with the top down you have just about enough room for a newspaper (unfolded) and a book (not War and Peace).
