Winter is on it's way
 

I've had a lot of good road trips in my 2002 SC430 since buying it it June this year.
Never had to put a car away for the Canadian winter before, it's not here yet but I would like to be prepared.
I'm in eastern Ontario, I will be doing the usual winter prep as if it was a daily driver, It will be going in an unheated garage and will be wearing a new car cover, read several things, including jack the car up to take the wheels off the ground, also don't jack it up, but increase to tire pressure to 50 psi.
Leave the battery connected in the car and put it on a battery maintainer (trickle charger). No Remove the battery from the car and take it inside to protect it. We are in a rural area, so any tips on keeping critters out, I've heard that dawn dryer sheets help with that.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Nothing keeps critters out, nothing. Not dryer sheets, not the hottest pepper spray on earth or anything else you can think of. Trap them and hope you get enough so they don't eat your car. A cat is the most effective.

I winter store several cars, remove the battery keep it in the house (lasts far longer doing this). Tires to 45 PSI, fuel stabilizer in the tank. That's about it.

I leave the battery, I think it's better for the ECU's to remail powered. Trickle charger whenever not being driven.

In winter I use Lucus Fuel stabilizer. Charger Plugged in. I also bought an electronic gadget for keeping critters away. One in the engine bay, hooked to battery.

One in the accessory plug in the cabin. I don't do anything special for wheels and tires. I do roll it about 4 times through the winter, doesn't take much to move to a different spot on the tire.

I also put a car cover on it, or the dust on it will drive me crazy and I will wash it.

Where I store my 2007 I can’t plug in, so I just disconnect the ground terminal, and that has worked fine for the 12 years I have owned the car. Pump up the tires and park it on plastic so moisture does not rust out the undercarriage. I also fill the tank with non ethanol gas.

It's when it's -15c to -30c and your snow blower is always ready to tackle the next storm.
Best part it's over when it goes above freezing, the sun is out and ppl are walking around in shorts:)

Yeah, we escaped winter and the snow belt about 10 years ago when we moved to South Carolina. We had had enough, sold the plow off my truck and both my snowblowers... Such a great decision, in my mind anyway! A bit hot in the summer but a good tradeoff!

Where did you find the critter deterent? What brand is it?.

I wish these devices worked. They don't. Put 3 of them in my garden squirrels acted strange around them for a bit then proceeded to ignore and continue eating my plants.

Well I don't know if they work or not. I hope that they keep doing what they've been doing and that is deterring a mouse from eating all the wiring.

When I was looking for my car I looked at a car that the guy told me it had a rebuilt title because the wiring got ate all over well the owner wasn't driving it. He said it was a nightmare to fix and that is why the insurance Co totaled it!

I have one under the hood, one on the center consul. 3rd season with no issues. I've never had a squirrel try to eat my wiring or make a nest under the dash.

Yeah, I am thinking they are better suited to in a car in the garage that outside in a garden.
