Btw the trunk switch on the dash works when I have the switch in bypass.

The bypassing the switch with the jumper wire stops the chime when driving. My son didn't have a lot of time to continue to troubleshoot so I will have to look at adjustment and see how the switch works at a later time.

Thanks for all the help!
I don’t understand. What do you mean by the switch in the dash works when you by pass? When you bypassed the switch, did the trunk pop open? Did you try to operate the top with the switch bypassed? It sounded to me the switch in the dash is bad since it stops the chime. I was hoping that this switch caused your top malfunction, not the limit switch in the trunk.

Hey, that's great. That switch must tell the car when the top is fully closed. When you bypass it (Put it in the closed position) then it doesn't need to remind you the top is partially open and gives the ok for the trunk to open.

I would test the switch to see if it is bad. There is a possibility, your roof really isn't closed all the way. (But only a VERY small one)

Or you can just clean the switch with some electronics cleaner & Sandpaper, make sure the two metal parts line up and plug it back in.

I didn't watch this video, but hopefully it can help you
