Looking to buy a 2002 sc, and the service shows that the passenger airbag was replaced under recall, does the drivers airbag need to be replaced to. thanks

On my 2006 there was a recall on the recall and Lexus of Tulsa replaced the first recalled air bag with a new one.

The same airbag in my 2002 was replaced twice…there was something wrong with the first replacement airbags.

each time, they provide a loaner, wash your car and fill the tank.

 

The reality is, that Lexus knew right from the start that the first replacement was not long term. The air bags deteriorated over time and the first one put in was just the same as the one put in at the factory. They did not have a fix at that point. When they had the fix a second recall was initiated. That is why we have had two recalls.
