Default FS: JDM Soarer Badge - Brand New

I have for sale ONE JDM Soarer "Griffin" for sale. It is absolutely brand new in the bubble wrap still sealed. Here's a few pictures...

Side by Side...the one on the right (the open one) is mine....the other one is possibly yours.

Here's the back...there are three (3) "pins" on the back that can be snipped off if you want. OR, you can drill some holes and install it like the factory...once the pins are through the hole, you can take a wood/metal screw and screw it into the holes to "expand" the pins (like a rivet). Then you can unscrew the screws and it'll make the emblem much more difficult to take off the car...

Ok, it's tenatively sold...

Legends - Yes, the front "L" on the bumper is held in with 3 posts just like this one...HOWEVER, the hole locations are different....so you would need to fill the stock holes and then make new ones for this emblem....OR you can just shave the posts on the Griffin emblem and just stick it on over the stock holes (I think the Griffen covers all three)...the posts are there just as a security measure...

Also, after taking a closer look at the stock emblems, the factory uses "lock washers"...the kind you press on and the hole in the middle is actually smaller than the post it's going on (which is why these posts are tapered on the top)...there are two or more "cuts" in the washer from the inside about 1/3 or 1/2 of the way out and with the pressure of them being forced over the larger post, they spread open and the washers stay in place by force... (I hope that makes sense...anyone who's seen these should know what I'm talking about)

...and these bastards are hard as hell to remove because as you put them on, the force cause the center to bend upward (towards the tip of the post) and causes a "cleat-like" action...which makes it hard to remove them...

Or you can use the screw method...both basically prevent easy removal of the emblem...

Thanks for the description manaray.
Damn, sounds like a lot of work. I definitely don't wanna go thru all of that!
But I DO wonder how I can shave the post? Can I just cut it out? and then use sandpaper?

Does anyone have the SOARER badge for the rear in GOLD ?

Manaray,

I have the Griffin on the front of my car. Cocking it like it is in my sig WILL fill up all 3 holes, but doing it the OEM way will not--although, it ALMOST does!

Thought I'd let you know or the buyers know. I have all the posts shaved off of my Griffin---it looks nice the way it is and very hard to see the uncovered hole.

Sorry for chopping up your post. Otherwise, thought I'd give you guys a heads up.

Regards,

The emblem is SOLD. Thanks everyone for looking. I may be getting more in the future. If you're interested in this item, PM me...but only if you're a serious buyer...don't bother me with "How about one for $25" or some other crap like that.

Cory - Thanks for the additional info!
