2002 SC430 chime and light stays on even though top works fine .
Anyway to turn chime off ? Only chimes when car is moving thanks the retractable hardtop warning light stays on whether the top is fully closed or fully open.

First of all, welcome to the forum.
I'm not aware of a way to turn off the alarm.
Since the top still functions, it sounds like the warning light is shorted (or open) in the alarm position. If the sensors that indicate an alarm situation were indicating an alarm situation, the top shouldn't operate. So I'm guessing that there is either a bad connection or a problem around whatever drives the light.
It also sounds like the chime is working properly since it thinks there is an alarm situation and it only chimes when the car is in motion.
However, if the opposite is true that it truly does sense an alarm situation but the top operates anyway, then there is a problem with the top controller.
Typically, the main thing that triggers an alarm is the trunk space divider. (Sorry, I don't remember the proper term.) If the metal pieces that slide down into the slots on each side are not properly seated, an alarm situation will occur. Even if it is fully seated down to the bottom of the slot and the divider is pushed forward too much, its presence will not be sensed and will create an alarm. So the divider being properly seated would be the first thing I'd try. After that, you will likely have to track the problem down.

Did they show you where the switch is? If you can get a picture of the switch, we might be able to find one that can either replace it that is on the open market or fix it to where it won't make the alarm go off any longer.

First...run away as fast as you can from that dealer and is there another one close to you?
A B2530 error is a malfunction concern the limit switch on the LH luggage lock front, not the package tray. The error, which is most likely the switch, may also be the roof ECU but probably not. We just went through one of these with JohnnyCake's car, but it was another switch...there are several that can fail...I believe his DIY repair cost him about $100, some of his, and Habious' time along with some pizza.
Your part is most like this Diagram. and this $85 part /SWITCH-ASSY--LIMITFOR-LUGGAGE-FRONT-LOCK-LH/5752281/8429024080

If you have access to another dealer I'd get a second opinion ....ARMED with this info to begin with.
Here is the link to Johnny's successful diagnosis and repair...https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...h-removal.html

Try the method suggested and if that does work look through the PDF link in post #14 (numbers are in the top right corner) ....but you really need a second opinion on that 2530 error.

Let us know how it turns out. Take pictures if you do some of the repair.
