Classic, Habious!

3. If you turn the dash dimmer all the way on the GPS no longer goes into night mode.
I think it's the other way around - If it's turned to the brightest setting (and clicks into place) then Night Mode is available. If you back down the dimmer, you will not be able to find Night Mode.

IStoSC-
Page 264 of my 2005 owner's manual. Look under "emergency" in the back of yours for the correct page.
In case the top will not function, there is a mat in the bottom of the middle console that you pull up, then a lever with a picture of a car with the trunk open on it. You pull the loop of the wire to work the top manually and follow the sequence of events in the owner's manual.
***Also, on this topic, the Valet Button in the glove box is a pretty cool feature we don't talk about much.**** Not as sexy as kissing the tail pipes or beef and broccoli, but it's guaranteed to trip up some new SC owner one of these days with all the new CL members we've been getting! ****

Schucks I thought that lever in the glove box was for the ejection seat. Now I will just have to sit in the seat and take my punishment for driving to fast when i get stopped for speeding

As for the Valet button...I think it's a great feature. So much so that I tied in my CarPC's video siwtch circuit into it.
When the valet button is pressed, not only does the top/trunk not work, but the Nav screen door won't open and the video display won't switch over to the CarPC. Keeps curious eyes away from it.

Thank you for clarifying what he was talking about, I was worried he would not be able to sit down in his SC for a week.
Darn Habious, you could not just let this go so I could sleep at night, I may never buy a used car again.
I beg you all, please do not click this link, Don't read this, lets just try and remember the article about the Carputer in the Times.

bump this thread! Just gave it some props in the new Sticky SC430 Buyer's Guide and I wanted newbies and new lurkers to see it.
This thread (major props to Johnnycake for starting!) is great and has an amazing breadth of knowledge on it-both official and unofficial...serious and not-so-serious!

I can offer a testimonial to the great guys at the SC Forum. When I was out searching and hemming-hawing on the SC, you guys came and tipped me over the fence.
I am not looking back, just babying the SC.
Just put my 1st order with Sewell. I have to do this piece meal so that the credit card charges fly below the radar...

This one's in the manual, but I never knew it (9 years!):
To eject all discs, hold the EJECT button until the system beeps (about 5+ seconds).
To load all discs, hold the LOAD button until the system beeps.

This thread is so cool. You learn tiny little stuff that can be WOW you.
Last nite I tried the ON-OFF of the Radio with the cover closed by using the MODE on the steering controls. Worked! Thanks for this tip.
