Default This is what happens when a motorcycle rear ends you

so I got rear ended by a motorcycle (rider with no driver's license and insurance). how much do you think it will cost to fix? will they total it out? i was looking at NADA and it looks like my car would be worth some where around $2200 (without knowing what i have under the hood and putting the TT rims back on). i'm thinking i will buy it back since i've got the whole turbo/r154 setup and then transfer everything over to another car. problem is that doing this will actually cost me $...even though it wasn't even my fault. damn. =(

luckily for the rider, i was driving the lexus and not my pathfinder. rider pretty much flipped over my car, hitting his head/helmet on the rear glass, and over my hood. he walked away w/ only a small cut on the back of his head. he'll probably be even sorer than me tomorrow.

lol @ the head sized hole.

Goodluck in fixing it. As a motorcycle rider, I don't see how the hell he could have rear ended your car.

Idiot, obviously.

I hate bikes. Especially ones with irresponsible riders. Good luck with the repairs.

At least 500lbs traveling at anything above 20mph is going to create an impact.

What a squid as newb...

It doesn't look all that bad. You could get it fixed. Just go get some quotes..tell them if you keep it under $1000 your insurance won't go up.. You may get one that can do it for $1000

Your insurance should replace the window for you...so you wont have to come up with that...hopefully

From the pics, it looks like everything that was damaged can be easily replaced!

so your saying that my premium may go up due to a non-insured motorist hitting me if the cost for repair is over $1k?

btw, can you pm me the info on the parts. thanks.

From the damage you should be able to fix it and save yourself the trouble....

I also got into a accident but with Someone in A Nissan Altima who failed to stop at a 4 way while I was making a right turn, As a result I was hit in the rear quarter panel.....

The insurance pretty much told me that they will total the car and basically give me book value(they said the damage exceeded the cost of the car). Or they gave me the option to buy the car back with a rebuit title..WTF!

I chose to fix it myself at a body shop that only cost me $1000, good luck with your choices!

No matter what you say or do the adjuster gets the last word. You pay for insurance to make it right if something goes wrong so drop your ***** on the table and tell them to get it fixed.

thanks for the info. i'll need to see how much it would cost to fix. i was initially thinking of buying another car w/ a good body and transfer everything i have to it and then sell off the car but not sure how much going this route would cost.
