Never had any water in the trunk when I was daily-ing the car, found some ice while stripping it though. Buddy who painted messed around back there and unplugged the hoses. Rigged up a new clean hose for the fuel door and cleaned the sunroof one up.
The dash is impressive and intimidating. Its honestly not held in by much once you're there but it is secure as can be.
Pioneer sub was blown in half. Rear deck came out really nice surprisingly, can tell the board is very brittle though. Planning on adding a 10" sub a 5 channel amp, new speakers and a head unit if anyone sees this and has any cool tips / hints /info on amp mounting spots. May try to go above the gas tank as my amp wont fit very well in the factory location.
Cleaned this thing at the car wash, drying it out and gonna try to dye it.
I am totally blown away at what your doing. Hats off to you!
All I can say is; Good luck my Man ...Joe 👏🏻
yo Joe thanks for the good luck haha, Nice pictures you posted of the ghost town
My friends, family and neighbors think I'm crazy and wont complete it
I've been at it every minute I can with a lot of help from the forums
I plan to go pretty crazy with this car and I have quite the stockpile of stuff to keep me busy for a while
Installed a cabin air filter today and cleaned a lot of the venting + prepped some interior stuff for paint
Heres a really bad video I made to maybe help someone figure out how to make a cabin filter work for the 1992 models, I should've recorded it all but it was spur of the moment so I just show what I did with my spare filter.
ALSO
if any of you guys see something you think I should do that I haven't mentioned while the car is gutted, like running wires of some sort (even pre-emptively I just wont connect them and will tape them under trim and carpet at both ends or something) , changing/swapping something or anything by all means let me know and I'll consider it. Thanks!
My biggest goals are t56 swap and then a turbo, but thats a bit away
I think I diluted the dye with too much water. Gonna rinse it tomorrow and see but if it washes out to not-black I'm gonna give it another shot using a very strong mix of the powdered rit.

It's been a really long time. When I first started working on this car I had a lot of plans for it. I've moved my interest to my black 94.
This car is very sentimental to me, I've had a lot of fun driving it. But I don't have the space or need for it anymore...
I finished the interior swap and have had no shortage of small issues since.
After getting everything in, I had the radio working fine. The next day I went to turn the car on and the radio wasn't working. Checked Voltage and indeed the radio was getting what it needed. So I think it crapped out in 24 hours. Bought and installed a head unit with CD player.
Next I find a brake fluid leak where the line goes into the splitter at the rear. It had rusted out in the time the cars been parked. Pulled a line off a SC400. Replaced it, go to bleed the system, get to the Front drivers caliper and the bleeder snaps off. Went to my parts car, tested its caliper, bad as well. Ordered a reman caliper, installed it, bled the system again and now my pedal is creeping down. Master cylinder is leaking as well.. I'll have my master cylinder Monday.
I hope I dont run into any more issues with this thing. I think its on the up and up from here... My time with this car is coming to an end, I think I will have it listed for sale before the end of the year. It runs like a top, I really think its the best running (and looking!) car I have. I'll miss it!
