This reminds me that I've been looking for a spare for mine as well. I plan on getting tires pretty soon so I might end up getting a spare from an LS or a supra too. The RC spare is also an interesting choice
That RC spare is a smart choice. You got a good price on it too. I’ve been thinking of what spare would fit in the trunk. I currently don’t keep one in my trunk and keep one of my LS430 18’s around as a spare. Would an OEM 1992 SC400 16 inch wheel and tire fit in the trunk space?
Kira, all 1992-2000 SC's and Soarers came with full size spares so I think a stock 16" SC300/400 wheel would fit in the trunk easily, yes. The advantage of the 17" Supra MKIV TT & SC430 compact spare and this 18" Lexus RC compact spare wheel is that both will clear larger performance brake calipers sized for 17" and 18" rims respectively.
Like Craig pointed out, any factory SC wheel with appropriate tire should fit in the well. I chose this RC spare because first, it’s over 20 pounds lighter than the steel spare it came with. Second, it has a high face design specifically for clearing larger brake setups. This spare clears RC-F Brembos! And last, it’s a 100% fit; same hub bore and everything.
I am also partial to the design. I think it’s the coolest looking spare you could run.
The only thing worth noting is that I would recommend you carry a spare set of Toyota lug nuts if you’re going to run this spare. The 60* taper lugs for your aftermarket wheels aren’t made for these. So, I have my wheel lock for my CCW’s and five Toyota lugs with the washers stuffed into my First Aid bag on the left side of the trunk.
Took the car to Cars and Coffee with my wife and daughter for the first time yesterday. Forgot to take any pictures at the event, mostly cause I couldn’t find any other SCs or Supras to park next to lol
But, afterward we went to our empty lot where we’re building a house for a little memory making.
For the record, I didn’t black bag my wife so she couldn’t find her way back to this secret location lol just edited the photo to maintain some privacy.
In other news I’ve been considering running the JDM amber side markers on the front bumper with a little bump out. What do you guys think of them compared to our USDM flat versions?

Nick
soarer side markers are dope , just scored a pair for a good price locally that are going on my 97 bumper swap
The car looks beautiful, Nick!! And congratulations on the new house project as well!!
Thanks Craig! This housing market has been brutal. It’s a scary time for us to buy a house but with two little girls we feel it’s our only option. Fingers crossed the market doesn’t implode…

Missed these pics, been busy getting the car ready and stuff
Have to admit I saw this pic and did a double-take!
You've done a real nice job. I like it...of course Bet you got some nice comps at your Cars and Coffee. I don't have any meets like that up here, but there is a coffee shop ha ha.
A tip; good location, nice scenery, background can really add to the cars photo. Lighting awareness is important if you want to make the car look its best, like shadows and the right sun light
I believe you've got it right. Those memories are Important! I've got ones w my daughter that are priceless to me.
Nice job. All the Best...Joe
Thanks Joe. I didn’t hang around my car during the Cars and Coffee so I didn’t speak with anyone but when we were driving out I could hear people talking amongst themselves lol
I’ve been shocked to find how many people will stop me on the street though! Sitting at a stop light, filling up at the fast station, just driving down a back street this guy hollered at the car. I did not expect people to love SCs like this. My FD was the same and I kind of expected that would subside or maybe vanish all together with this car. Pleasantly surprised to find that my car is bringing others joy like it is.
Hi Nick
I don't think its the same car. If I remember that far back, it had a particular stance to it. It wasn't even a close up shot. Not many rsp SC's in the forum that I remember. Mine isn't one, the p in mine is for purple . The other fella and I still seem to recall that post. Its in here somewhere 🤷♂️
I think this is the RSP car me and gerrb, or was it Thomas, were talking about
found him in SC Registry "atxishome"
I'm sure the one I was talking about
Thanks Joe.
