Eminent White Pearl vs Wind Chill Pearl

1. What is the difference between Lexus (various models) Eminent White Pearl (085) and Toyota (Camry) Wind Chill Pearl (089)?

2. My ‘97 SC300 is an original DWP (051) 5spd that is currently prepped and ready for paint. I’m pretty sure I’m going to go ahead with the subtle color change but would love to know how the 2 paint colors listed above differ. I’ve searched but haven’t found the answer, and unfortunately, I haven’t been able to see them side by side to compare.

3. If you are familiar with the colors, what do you think I should do? Go with 085, 089, or keep the original 051? Maybe there’s another really nice white pearl to consider? If so, please chime in!

I’d really appreciate any help anyone can provide on the subject!

I used to deal with brand new Lexus at work and Eminent White Pearl is very nice looking in person. It’s one of the best shades of white Lexus has used. I think it looks better than Diamond White Pearl. My vote would be Eminent White Pearl or even Starfire Pearl from the GX460. Starfire Pearl was popular on the second generation IS’ and many of the late 2000’s Lexus.

I don’t have any experience with Wind Chill Pearl.

Eminent White Pearl is really nice. I was thinking of painting my SC that color, but not sure I want to do a 3 stage paint. Trying to find a non pearl white that is close to eminent white, closest I found so far is the color on my Alfa.

I will be repainting my 051 car too in the future and will probably stick with 051 for originality's sake.

That white on your Alfa Romeo looks incredible!

You can’t go wrong with a fresh coat of the factory white.

Thanks Kira X,,

I appreciate the input and agree that Eminent White Pearl looks great in person. Also, I have a 2013 RX450h in Starfire White Pearl. I like the color a lot on it, but want something with a little more pearl effect on the SC.

The wind chill pearl, to my untrained eye, appears to be a white base with a silver pearl and moderate gloss clear while the Eminent White Pearl appears to be pretty much the same but potentially a slightly different hue at angles and the clear seems to be high gloss.

Thanks to everyone else for their input as well. The purist in me is still considering the 051, but I’m leaning toward the Eminent White Pearl. I love how it stands next to all different shades of pearl whites and doesn’t look boring but also next to very white cars doesn’t look dull and yellowed. We’ll see though. I feel like I need to see Eminent vs Wind Chill side by side, choose between them, and then decide original or color change.
