Default JIC Magic front bumper

Just curious, do all JIC front bumpers for SCs come with the slot for the 97+ front grills?

Am I able to opt for one that does not have that front grill slot?

Thanks.

Yeah. They've all got the slot for the grill. Good news is you can buy a stock grill to use.

They all have the slot...I don't think you can get rid of the slot unless you mold something over it and cover it up...

Thanks guys.

Does anyone know how much a JIC Magic front bumper would prob. cost me? How much would a stock grill cost me?

I may or may not buy this piece but obviously, price is a big factor before I make up my mind.

I tried calling/emailing Steve Ganz at Carson Toyota but I have yet to hear from him.

Thanks again.

Steve Ganz quoted me 83 dollars for the front grille...

I'm not too sure about the front bumper..My guess would be around 450-600 dollars...

What are your plans? Doesn't make any sense driving around with just a front bumper and no skirts...

Thanks for the help.

For now (and hopefully for as long as I own my SC4), I'd like to keep it look as close to stock as possible. That's why I was contemplating either JIC Magic or Auto Culture or AB Flug Type I for front bumpers and perhaps just a Kaminari front lip. And again, I am considering these options only because my stock front lip is in a very bad shape.

I think I would be okay with just the front bumper since these kits are very subtle in terms of aggressiveness. One way I don't want to go is ending up spending $25k plus as I did with my BMW. I've already learned my lessons on how difficult it is to maintain a modified car.

Regards,

Jon

it'll look awkward if you only get just the front bumper....they make your car look alot lower, so if you only have the front bumper, it'll look kinda funky....if you want your car to look more stock, why don't you do the 97+ conversion? just a suggestion.....

me too....my dad is on my case about maintanance of my car....he thinks that all the mods i did such as my coilovers and exhausts contributed to my engine breaking down......it just so happened that my car needed a major tune up and broke down right after i did the mods...talk about bad timing i spent 4k and running to maintain and 8k on mods, it's all catching up......

I know what you mean.

Well I figured since I was going to spend the money to replace my front bumper, I might as well as get something different from stock to make my car more individualistic.

Hmm.. so it looks like the JIC Magic is a no go for me then. How about if I just get a Kaminari front lip? Would that make the car look awkward?

Thanks.

that won't flow....

if you notice, all SC's have a flowing style to them.
The height is consistent front to rear. Adding a lip or front bumper from a kit will throw away that geometry and look akward imo. I would try Steve Gaz for the bumper cover or www.wholesalebumpers.com

good luck sir

Thanks.

Whoa, a front bumper cover is less than $200? Is that the entire front end though? Or is it just a cover? If it's just a cover, where does it cover? Hmmm...

I think getting a Kaminari front lip is prob. not so bad if I simply replace my stock lip with it. They should have similar thickness and height so I guess I should be able to get by with this setup.

the bumper cover is the entire front bumper cover. the actual bumper support [internal] can be found on many websites for ~45.00 [if doing the 97-00 converrsion], otherwise that's all you need + paint

To see the lip, go to www.nopi.com and look in the e-catalog. You will see what I mean

Thanks again.

It's funny how a stock bumper cover could be had for less than $200 while that little stock lip is more than $400 from the dealer.

Decisions decisions....
