Can you go wrong with a $200 2J?

Was at work yesterday and ran into a dude that knew about the SCs and asked if i wanted another 2JZ (I have a 1uz) guy said he has a NA 2jz collecting dust in the garage he would sell me for $200..
even if it is pretty beat can you really go wrong with a $200 2J as long as it didn't throw a rod or spin a bearing?

i thought 95 too 96 is vvti weak rods

That’s the going rate at the pullapart with all the accessories! Yes, buy it if it’s a non vvti and build/boost it for more power T least that’s what I’m currently doing in my long going build

The strong rods (same as GTE's) are in all 92-97 Non-VVT-i blocks. It's the 98-00 VVT-i's that had the much weaker rods, weaker pistons and weaker piston rings. All the 92-00 cranks are exactly the same though.
