92 SC 400 for $9,500?
Guys
I have been thinking of getting an SC and found one for $9,500 with under 80K shipped to CA.
It is a 1 owner SC. Always wanted an SC but for a 26Years car I don’t know. Blue book on the 92 is at best 5K.
It is a 1 owner car and clean. What do you SC owners think?

Yea, I do think the 92 is way over price .
please note he was willing to go $8,200
I have to ship it to CA and that adds about
$1,500 to the cost . I still think
$8,200 for a 26 yr old SC 400 is high.
The car is a 1 owner car and does look clean
I would speak with the owner if I want to buy the car.
The problem is low mileage clean SC is harder
to come by.

My 93 wasn't 1 owner. I think im the 3rd.. And it wasnt low mileage at 209k. But it was $1,500 ran and drove fine with aftermarket wheels, apexi mufflers and at one point a side skirt and rear side bomex bodykit.
even low mileage i just dont see a 92 being worth nearly that much without something VERY special about it. But definitely dont give up the SC dream

Where are you located in CA? There is a super mint condition SC400 local to me (Huntington Beach) with 47k miles for $6k. You can search for it on Orange County craigslist if you want (forum rules don't allow posting the ad).
There is also a 95 SC400 with 28k miles for $9.5k.

OP for what it's worth, a few months ago I purchased a '92 SC400 with 48k original miles for $8,500.

I was curious and called the low mileage SC listing
it turns out the guy is “ helping his friend “ sell the car
he inherited from his father.
i agreed if a car just sits, all the seals, gaskets just dry
up and you have to change them all.
The A/C I bet is also gone if it was not use for years

The way I look at the pricing is that a mint condition interior is worth the premium. Finding mint interior parts used is becoming increasingly difficult. Buying a complete new interior from Lexus is somewhere in the $10k range, and a lot of misc things have been discontinued which makes it even harder.
The gaskets (and probably bushings) needing to be changed is a minor detail. Those are all relatively easy fixes compared to sourcing an interior.

Thanks for all the tips guys.
As the previous owner of 4 SC430s, I always wanted to get
another SC but a clean white SC400.
I see the low mileage 400 is harder to come by these days.
I do see many Black SC400 for sale but not too many clean low
mileage White , Silver Spruce or the Red available.
As for paying a bit more, I really don’t have an issue
paying 1-2K more than high book considering getting a new
LC500 is about 100K so tax alone is about 10K alone

Guys
The guy will now will sell the 92 for $7,900
He had the car for 3 months. I still think
If is too much . Might bite at $7,000
and I still got to get it shipped to CA for all the trouble.
I have notice in Southern CA, SC 400 is very
popular and there are many there.
not in a rush and just want to get one for
my son.
