SC300 fuel/trunk switches non functional

Hello and glad to be back on after the ex got my GS300 in the divorce back in 05. Went to the Big H to pick up a SC needing some TLC 1st week of this month. She needs bushings, shocks, master cylnder, discs.
The previous owner did not change one thing for 14 yrs!!! All still there from new. Guess they figured if it works still why fix...A tribute to Lexus/TOYO quality. Just did the first wheel, shock and caliper/disc.
As I left the shady dealership down there in Houston, and as the fuel was at 3/4 tank and I had a long way home to ELP, I figured go in and fill up. I pulled the switch on the 97 SC300, nothing, pulled the trunk, nothing. Paniced for a miniute, remembered....Opened trunk with key, pulled the string to the fuel door.
Ck'd the FSM. Fuses good. I can see dirty hands were down there ckn also so they were there also(shady dealership_) Where do I go from here? It would seem rather against the odds for both switches to be both bad???

There is a lock next to the trunk and gas cap switch. If it is pushed it it would lock the trunk and gas cap. You cna unlock with your master key.

Have done so, the valet lock. in, out, switches do not work. All fuses good. I'm scratchin my head on this one.
Thanks for the reply.

Which fuse are you checking ?

On the assumption that all wiring and connectors are good and connected properly .. the 30A Door fuse is bad. That is the only fuse that is common to the fuel lid and theft control ECU which controls the trunk lid. The fuel lid solenoid is actually directly connected to that fuse .

I've checked all outside underhood, and kickpanel, DOOR fuse, as the manual says. big 30amp square one.

there is nothing between the 30A door fuse and the fuel lid switch and between fuel lid switch and solenoid . If all those are good , the only thing left are your connectors / wiring.

if fuse is good , either the switch OR the solenoid OR connectors / wiring

a multimeter to measure continuity and voltage will be your best friend
