The path to finding the correct bulbs for my 93 SC300 5 speed gauge cluster was a hassle! I searched this thread the net and talked to four Lexus Parts guys and still couldn't solve the puzzle and I get parts guys are interested in selling body parts not small bulbs. A Club Lexus member Texrud recommended Jerald Cooksey Parts Specialist at Park Place Lexus Grapevine #817.416.3277. Jerald took the time review pic's I emailed him and we solved the puzzle..A huge Thanks and shout out to Gerald for his Top Notch Professionalism, and quick customer service! Thank you for doing all this research and posting!
At one time maybe eight years ago I had bought some of the correct bulb part numbers but never wrote them all down! Now I just so happen to need to buy a new set of them myself and saw your thread ;) Indeed getting the correct bulb part number info from Lexus is NOT straightforward as you found out. That was also my experience. Now though it probably has something to do with the internal dealer Toyota/Lexus parts database being updated just a couple of years back. The first source of our original 1990's SC parts diagrams originate from the very end of the microfiche era after all! Excellent work!! |
Great INFO !

I totally get that they are a pain to look up, especially trying to coordinate them with what they go with.
Here's a diagram to go with https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...409c941960.png |
The path to finding the correct bulbs for my 93 SC300 5 speed gauge cluster was a hassle! Posted 15 years ago: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...tml#post594042 As well as the other bulb numbers in another thread that has the backlight bulbs as well as linked above (and that one has pics of the packages too). Search button would have saved a lot of time :) |

So, for the cluster, if I am reading your post right, there are only 2 types of bulbs for the 4/5 types of colored sockets? What type of bulb is required for the grey sockets? Btw, thanks for doing the research charley |

Speedometer Tachometer Gas and Temperature lights are NOT bulbs
Speedometer / Tachometer / Gas and Temperature lights are NOT bulbs and are attached to the back of the Dash display...I do not think these can be repaired..a cluster with working Speedometer / Tachometer / Gas and Temperature lights can be disassembled and reassemble into cluster with the digital odometer from matching car.
https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...fc386ab3a8.jpg I think a working cluster needs to be found to fix this issue https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...72c981214f.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...d46fd57f39.jpg I do nothing think these can be repaired. |
^^ If you mean that the lights for those gauges are located as soldered-on LEDs ON the gauge assemblies themselves then probably the only way to repair them is to de-solder and re-solder the bulbs from the circuit board on each. Tanin Auto does this I am sure. Huh... I had previously assumed that all of the cluster backlighting was achieved by all those removable bulbs.
Just to be clear, you aren't referring to the red lit NEEDLES on each gauge, right? Because those are a special fix and Tanin Auto is definitely the place to send them to for any reconditioning of the specialized gauge needle lighting. If this is what you meant then you are spot-on correct: they have no bulbs to replace. They have to be rebuilt. |

I had found the thread you linked and although a correct part # was offered, even the poster was not positive of the part#. Another member posted you can by them at parts store, not true..Seemed to leave a lot of information to be desired...reason for me starting this thread..
