Default Paint: 2 questions

1. What is the correct paint code for the B-pillar? 94 SC300. Mine is black and appears to have some gloss to it.

2. What is the correct paint for the factory hub caps? What's left of the paint on mine is a light silver.

Thanks, Bob

You won't find a paint code for either of those. Many people have asked but Lexus doesn't provide it.

The OEM B pillars are actually a metallic black with gloss clear from the factory. So just find any Metallic black and stick with it. I recommend the BMW Black Sapphire Metallic (Paint Code 475) as it's a very close match (not too much metallic like the American paints and not too little like on some Japanese colors).

The OEM hubcaps, same story, just find a close matching silver metallic or have your Powdercoater take care of it. They should have a million paint samples for silver wheels.

The B pillar is actually a thin high gloss plastic coating..... Painting those is a chore (since you have to first remove the original coating). Consider a suitable vinyl wrap (I went with faux carbon fiber version which reduces finger prints). Much cleaner look.

There are vendors that have re-furbished caps for the SC wheels but they run around $25-50 a piece.

1 sand and prep, then go to autozone, buy a black vinyl duplicolor paint and start laying a few coats

2 while you're at the same store in the same isle look for a aluminum wheel paint, when you bought all the cans you need items, go home and start your project my removing parts and masking with tape.

3 I'm not done yet, since you had to ask those 2questions, you don't want to hold your can too close to pillars or wheels,so easy does it with a few lighter coats, good luck brother!
