My 94 has the slot for a cup holder but in the back of the hole (towards the front of the car) is a solid piece blocking the cup holder from mounting. I'm curious if this year didn't have a holder meant to be there or was it an option? Seems odd there would be hole in the dash and nothing to put in it. Obviously, a rookie question but it's something I can't figure out.

you have to pop that piece out. its a filler panel

You have to remove the shift lever and console, then you can remove that back panel (held on by 4 clips) and pop in the cupholder. Pretty simple process.

You may know that cupholder isn't the most sturdey and is limited n the size of drink it can accommodate, but still reasonably useful and I'm glad I added it to my car.

Pretty worthless holder of a cup or anything else...…

I use the slot for the garage door opener.....

Thanks VTSC300. Did just that and the holder popped right into place. I recognize it's not the sturdiest thing but the dash looks more complete now. Bob
