Saw a Soarer Front Clip For Sale
Hi,
I noticed an ad from a JDM breaker for a Soarer front clip, with fenders, bumper, hood, headlights, etc. If I decided to switch out SC400 components, will the mounting points be the same, simple bold on? Are the headlights different from the SC400? Will they fit in the same place?
My car is ok, but see Sc300s and SC400s with front end damage, and it looks like it might be a fun fix.

I cannot speak from personal experience with this but... the main structure, outer fenders, bumper support, headlights, front bumper, crash bar, foglights (if applicable), etc. should interchange. The only differences should be the chassis harness wiring (although you can easily steal huge sections of wire and terminal ends from the wiring in that front end clip for any electrical repairs in the future) and placement of some electrical components such as the cruise control (should be on the other side of the car up high in the engine bay on a RHD Soarer-- not a bad idea to save and sell that unit and the cruise cable too). The Soarer front windshield is also different from the SC version. So are the side mirrors (although they will bolt up to an SC).
Also, if that front clip still has any of the stock side mount intercooler hardware, those things are good to re-sell also. The 91-95 Soarer stock intercoolers can be rebuilt/re-cored and they bolt right in to any SC300/400's fender well.
For general front fender, front bumper and headlight parts you should be able to interchange with an SC. The only other thing I can think of is that perhaps the front headlights on the Soarer, even though they will bolt in just the same way on an SC and use the same harness connectors, may have a different aiming scheme for a RHD car rather than a LH car. Again though... for imported Soarer owners those headlights would still be valuable. If we check into the EPC on partsouq and compare an SC300's headlight part number to the headlight part number for a Z30 Soarer we'll be able to tell if both cars use the same headlights or if there are two kinds (LHD and RHD).
Maybe not the definitive answer you were looking for but definitely many of those parts that aren't directly related to LHD or RHD configurations will work just the same. Near everything will bolt up though.
