Question How does the SC400 drive?

I right now have a '95 ES 300. Which was my first car. I have done a lot of stupid things with it. Like running it into a tree going 80mph. Well, I wasn't going that fast when I hit the tree. I was going 80 when I spun off the road. I didn't get hurt at all and I was able to drive the car home after cashing before the cops found it. Anyways it was $8,000 to fix the car. After I got it back it has been having problems. I have taken it to the dealership to have it worked on. They would fix it and then something else breaks.

Anyways, I feel its time to get rid of it. Anyway my question is how does the SC400 drive? My car was really smooth. Which is really good when you live in Washington DC where its pot hole hell. My car was very fast for being a sedan. My streeting was so easy to turn. It felt like a hot knife though butter. If the SC400 is like that I want one. I have test driven a BMW 3.28 and M-Benz C 280. Both of them I didn't like. They aren't smooth at all compaired to my Lexus. They cost a lot more than what my car does. I don't understand why cause they suck.

The SC400 is the best car I've ever owned. I'm on my 2nd now. The engines stand up to all kinds of abuse. Corners very well. seems to stick to the road. Acceleration is very good and smooth. In the years Lexus made the SC400, it was considered the top of the line. If you're planning on doing any mods there isn'nt really a good aftermarket. Everything seems twice as expensive cause of the shiny L on the bumper.

XvWesvX,

I would have to agree with Vegas, The SC400 is the best I've ever owned, and will continue that way for a long long time. In fact, I have 2 SC400's. I'm always amazed of how dependable and bulletproof this car really is. A lot of people out there will think this car is only a few years old, it still looks that great. I would take an SC Lexus over an ES, but that's just my opinion. If money is not an issue, look at the 97-99 SC models.

XvWesvX,
Test drive a couple. An SC4 will NOT be as smooth as an ES. The steering will NOT be easy to turn. It is more performance oriented. It will be faster, handle better and hopefully not spin you out at 80mph. Shouldn't be driving that fast on MD roads anyways . It will also feel ride rough and bounce over DC potholes. I won't even take my SC into DC or anywhere I know there are potholes

For smoothness, quietness, and general road isolation look for an LS or even another ES. For more road feel, better handling and speed get an SC

Regards

My first Lex was a 92 ES 300 manual. Lexus SOLD me on reliability, looks, STRENGH, ease of controls and the interior. I wanted something sportier, got a SC 400. IT SOLD me on RWD. I knew from then on, I needed a RWD car. I loved the SC, it was awesome. I understood the ES is nice, but based of the Camry while the SC was a 50k car back in 1995. Huge difference in feel, more like a tank. The ES seats suck, the SC seats are awesome. Plus looks.

The SC was a 6 time 10 best winner.
