315000k mile sc300 worth it?
High mileage sc for a good price just not sure on how strong the ge really is in those miles the engine doesn’t recieve spark right now current owner says it’s due to the distributer he has a new one just needs to be installed. Any help or opinions on this is helpful and what to look for. |
Those motors can run forever if you know how to work on cars and do basic maintenance...
Would I buy a non-running car based on the seller's "word" of what they "think" it needs? Hell no. But if the price is right, the car's overall condition is up to your standards, and you're confident with your mechanical skills, go for it! Worst case scenario, you can pick up a used good condition motor and trans set for a grand give or take. What I'd really be concerned with is you're in NH.... and I would check every square inch of it for rust and body rot. Make sure the fuel and brake lines are not on their last dying days, check the front and rear subframes and other important suspension components for rust. Rust would kill an SC long before the drivetrain gives out. |

thanks for the reply and Does the distributor issue sound normal? Or would there be any other causes for no spark? Also yes the underneath is really clean the only serious spots are on a body panel the guy I’m buying it from has several garages and knows his cars he’s just lost interest in this one |
