Question Wiring Harness

Would the wiring harness behind the dash "safety pad" out of a 93 400 work in a 95 300?

With the exception of a couple of issues, the wiring harness swap seems to work no problem. Who knew a 93 auto 400 will work in a 95 5sp 300! I'm doing this because of an electrical fire behind the cluster, Needless to say, as well as the harness, I had to replace the cluster as well, I got one from one of the pick a part places. My next question is concerning the LED needles, the ones I got from the pick a part place aren't working. I changed them with some from the old cluster as well as some I had laying around and still no light up. To test them, all I need is a 9v battery? I was looking through some of the other posts and from what I can gather, is there a chance that bad caps in the cluster can cause the needles not to light up as well?!
Thanx for input
