Does anyone know if 92 and 96 climate controls have any differences

My 96 has bleed thru on lcd display and I have a couple of units out of a 92 and a 93 so wondering if I can send one of them off to be re-screened or do I need to go ahead and pull the 96 and send it? I am just trying to avoid pulling it and not have climate control while it is out for repair.

A 92-94 has to be used in a 92-94 and 95-96 has to be used in a 95-96. Not sure about the 97+. If you install a 92-94 unit into your 95-96 car, then the fan speed doesn't work.

I believe the face plates are interchangeable from 92-00, so if one of your 92-94 units is still good, then you can try installing that faceplate into your 96.

Brains are different, face plates are not (aside of color of bulb caps). Swap new face onto old brain = profit.

Glad I asked, both the 92 and 93 have bad displays too so looks like I might as well send the 96 off. I had thought I could send one of those off and when it got back just stick it in the car, now I see I can't.
