Default Rescuing a SC300 5speed from a abusive relationship!!

Monday I bought a 1995 SC300 5speed. It came from an abusive relationship and is now in a loving home lol. I paid 900 bucks for it so it's pretty rough to say the least. Salvage title, beat up front end, a drift fail on the back. It's sitting on cut springs, has ridiculous straight pipe, and some other problems I won't find till a bit later into fixing it up. Kid told me it did run but his battery had exploded. I took my battery and some terminals and it fired right up. It was less than a mile from my house I took its bouncy *** for a ride to his new home.. It was love at first drive. Tranny shifted like butter and it was faster than my Ls400 lmao. From the lil I do know kid was too broke to modify it. Engine looks stock, not even an INTAKE! He did have two good piece in it a TRD strut bar and some smokey Taiwanese tail lights.

A bit rough, but good find. The W58 is worth half that alone. Congrats on the find.

Those must be like +90 offset wheels

Mine was pretty rough when I bought it also... It is coming along though, I'm sure you will do the same!

Thanks you! It is but I'm not too worried about it, it's mostly cosmetic and slowly but surely it will be back to Being a honorable 5 speed sc300.
Those wheels are off an old school mustang but I like the look.

I will keep this tread posted on the progression. It's going to be a slow, low budget rebuild. Pick and pulls have tons of sc400 and s300 for parts where I'm from

Thanks I think it was destiny for to fall in my hands. I wasn't looking for a car since I had just finished bringing back to life a 92 ls400 from a 8 year garage prison. This is a different animal once I finished the ls400 I was bored and needed something that's more fun.

Another 5spd being saved! Props man! I am going through something similar now, but more of rust repair than dents/collision.

...let's get a GTE motor in her and BOOST!!!

good luck on you project. It's the least we could do these cars need the justice. Yeah that's the plan down the line after it's looking the way I want it.

Nice find and save! The cosmetic aspects do need some work but it looks like it's in fairly decent shape. One thing you should get very soon is a new SC300 fan shroud. With the heat in southern California right now you'll want the cooling system working optimally.

Since the hood and front fenders have been replaced, I would inspect the front frame, crossmember and metal safety bumpers (I don't know the correct name for them offhand) under the exterior front bumper. Just to make sure there isn't any front end damage. If you do happen to find any I am sure it can be repaired from the way the car looks in the pictures.

It should be possible to eventually get the salvage title converted into a "rebuilt" title once the car is restored enough to be safety inspected by the DMV. It's a hassle but might be worth it later on.

Good luck and congratulations!
