Merry Christmas To All Fellow 1SC Enthusiasts
#6
Not really a "present" but a gift for the SC was a new TireTek compact tire pump from the manufacturer.
The high performance, low profile tires need constant monitoring so I went out on Amazon and found this brand "TireTek" that sells a line of tire gauges and tire inflation units. I opted for a low end 12 volt powered model that was only $40 or so... I wanted something small and reviews were decent and for a convenient in-the-trunk solution for quick tire inflation it seemed like an option.
Used it when it first arrived and found it compact, adequate to get to over 40psi, and relatively quiet. Not intended to replace a proper in-garage compressor (which I do not have).
The second time I went to use it (couple of weeks ago) needed to fill up the tires on the SC and the power cord that uses a 12v plug into the cigarette lighter malfunctioned (loose wire in the connector). So, I sent an email to the company (on a Sunday) and got a response only a few hours later. The co-owner answered and said he wanted only happy customers and would be sending a "new unit" which I interpreted to be a new power cord. To my surprise, a few days later a box arrives and instead he sent a whole new tire pump!!!!
What extraordinary customer service!!!! And a nice Xmas "gift" for the SC.....
