Default How much is a 1999 SC400 worth?

How much would you say a 1999 sc400 with 88k miles would go for?

And whether the OP is a prospective buyer or first-post seller...

I would find out if the Timing Belt/Water pump has been replaced, if not deduct $1000. Always ask if it has been in an accident or flooded.

Kelly Blue Book does not like our cars. They only give $5400 for a private sale in excellent condition. A Retail Lot would be about $1500 more.
I've been reviewing 1992 SC400 cars with low miles and still have the original timing belt. 25-yr old timing belt is a ticking time Bomb.
I found a nice 99 SC400 Black on Black with Supra TT wheels for $9k. First question would be the Timing Belt replaced? Asking price is where the negotiations begin.

Post back if you purchase the car.

Well I ended up buying it for $5,000 cash, test drove it and fell in love with it right away. The T belt has not been replaced though the water pump was replaced at 70k. The power steering is leaking just a tiny bit which I am looking to replace soon. Carfax said the maintenance on the car was regular at my local lexus dealer and that it hasn't been in any accidents etc. I really love this car, but was it a good deal?

A good deal really comes down to what area you live in. These cars have different values in each region because of demand. If the paint is in good condition and the leather is still nice, then that would be an amazing deal in my area.

I've had my eye on that 99 SC400 with 83k miles that DA51 posted for the last 2 weeks. I consider that car to be a great deal. I try to convince myself everyday that buying another SC isn't a waste of money. lol

Sounds like a great deal, but need pictures of the condition. That could sway it a lot. Congratulations on the purchase.

If you don't replace it soon, it's likely to leak onto the alternator and you'll be replacing that as well.

Welcome to SC ownership!

Need to remember that a 92 is a non interference engine so no valve damage if the timing belt breaks, but who knows what happens to other parts if that belt lets loose.

If you can get a clean title 99 sc400 with 88k in a great body and mechanical condition for 7-8000$ It's a great deal if you can even find one clean!

With that kind of mileage I day that's a fair price as long as it was in very good condition in and out. Vvti sc400s are fairly hard to come by.

You might check to see if the idle up control valve on the high pressure hose underneath the power steering pump is your fluid leak. The way Lexus packaged the V8 with the power steering pump above the alternator is a weakness. Almost need to make a shield to protect the alternator.
Get that Timing Belt replaced, why take the chance of the Belt breaking in traffic and the Tow could be almost as much as the repair. Find an independent Toyota/Lexus Shop and save $$$.
You bought the car at what you consider a Great Deal.
