Can anyone explain why my SC400 drove itself into another car?

I will have to admit that the "hitting both pedals" at once event happened to me a couple of times but fortunately it never resulted in any injuries or damage to anything. The braking system did hold the car in place.
However, I also have "after market" floor mats and have to be cautious not to have them slip down towards the pedals (since the floor mat anchors do not work with these mats) and worry about that, too.....
Sorry to see what happened to you, your car, and the innocent vehicle involved......

I damn myself for opening this thread in the first place lmao. Same thing happened to me today just after work lol. Luckily his car wasnt harmed and my passenger high beam shattered and 97 front bumper is scuffed up and mildly pushed in above the grille.

This has happened to me before minus the accident. Seems like the pedals are too close on this car, and sometimes I think I'm off the gas and on the brake only to get far enough and start jerking forward while braking. Maybe I just don't move my foot enough though.

Had the same problem occur with cheap aftermarket mats after they got some age and wear on them and deformed. Went and bought some good ones and haven't had the problem since. Hope you didn't damage anything.

This happened to me a couple of times where I was able to catch myself. Both times I was wearing some bulky sneakers and my foot would catch the gas pedal instead of brake pedal. Both times I didn't feel the difference in the pedal feel untill the last moment, I was able to quickly pull my foot completely off and smash my brakes fast to prevent the collisions it was a scarry thing too, my heart is pounding just thinking about it. You think you hit the brakes, but somehow side of your foot catches the gas pedal at the same time so at that moment you're starting to accelerate or jolting forward and having no idea what happened.
I recomend installing a sc/supra manual brake pedal and retrain your feet for it to avoid any accidents in the future!!
In short terms my foot was half on the brake pedal half on the accelerator at the time of applying pressure and that's what happened!
So so be careful guys!!

I have noticed that if I have my foot on the far right side of the brake pedal and I press the brake, the other side of my shoe will hit the gas before the brake is fully depressed. That could have been what happened here.
