Default Just my luck....Aaargh

So a couple weeks ago I installed led lights throughout the interior of my car, while installing the lights that go in the temp/volume ***** I heard something fry and a little puff of smoke before I noticed my ignition was on. After that no "auto" temp control, just fan on high in all positions, and only has "max cold" or full heat in all other positions. So I bought a temp/volume control off of ebay, swapped my color trim and LEDs into it before installing. Now its even worse as I bought a USDM temp control. The USDM control doesn't have the temperature range of the Canadian **** so that was a waste of $65. Curious if anyone knows if a JDM metric **** will work in my Canadian car or do I basically need to look for a USDM climate control now?

Dude,

Send your damaged climate control to Tanin Electronics for repair.

But im quite sure its not the climate control unit, just the little "auto" temperature/volume ****(s) that I wrecked.... Although I wonder if they would break me a deal just exchanging my Canadian "Celsius" climate control unit for a US "Fahrenheit" unit as I already have a "US" **** set. That would definitely be the way to go, especially if I can get it with custom color led bulbs already installed. Hmmm I'll look into exchange

Dude,

If only the auto/temperature/volume **** is wrecked, that is all you should be replacing. You're saying that there's a metric **** and a U.S. standard/Imperial ****. This is news to me. I would still contact Tanin Electronics since he deals/repairs both metric and Standard/Imperial climate controls all day long and does good work.

I contacted them, they basically want the same amount of $$$ for exchange as just buying a USDM climate unit from there eBay store.

Don't buy a unit from them, send yours in and have them repair it. I've used Tanin and many others have on this forum, they do exceptional work and their turn around time is amazing. They got my ECU on a Friday, and I had it back fully repaired on Monday.
