Default a question regarding throttle cables.

i dont quite understand why people are always trying to make a throttle cable work from some random car.
when i worked at ACE hardware, we sold aircraft cable of all different diameters with crimp connectors. is there a reason people dont just do this?
is it called aircraft cable just for some flare selling pointt? it even had weight limits listed.
maybe i am thinking too far ahead, or havent read enough but i havent seen anybody just make their own.
somebody care to tell me why not?

Reminds me of the experience I had on a Vdub with an improvised throttle cable ... the darn thing stuck .. normal reaction was to let off the pedal ,, but it would not slow down. brake and clutch and the engine raced (never roared) .. switch the ignition off .. luckily no power assist on that bug ..

Just one bad experience has me convinced for life ,, not to settle for anything except original cable and sleeve.
