can't peel out, have a question

Last night I took my car out the highway to see what it could do.
Right away I floored it and it wouldn't even peel out!
I had my ect in power mode and my traction control off. I also have a dragon torque converter installed so I was almost sure it would peel out easily.

The question I have:
I was searching and see a post about cleaning the ignition coil off to get a better connection. I don't know whole lot about cars so sorry if this is a dumb question.

Where is the ignition coil? Im not even sure what it is..
Will I be able to take this out myself to clean it?
Can anyone take a pic of where it is and what it looks like for me, or maybe a description?

Thanks,
Will

you will need more than a TC to peel out on the highway:D

you mean you were at 'high way speed' and then floored it? not gonna happen with just a TC.

Nitrous or Turbo would help :)

Can be done with nitrous on an sc4, but to do it would really be hard on your tranny and motor.

No, I mean from a start it wont' peel out.

would it be the same in acceleration wise if i turboed the sc300 w/ auto compared to the 5 speed? or would the auto be a bit slower?

Auto would be Much slower since the Auto trannys are geared for comfort (Its a Lexus)

Try a brake stand. Since you have the Dragon TQ, you have a higher stall. It should be fairly easy for you to get a good burn-out going. Are you on stock wheels and tires?

Don't be too sure 'bout that one...

How long ago did you do the TC? If you just did it then your ECU has to learn your new setup. I have a dragon with a 3000-3200 stall and I have no problem peeling out(18" rims). If you just did the converter, see what happens after a 100 miles or so. And No I dont have to load the converter to spin the tires. Let off the brake and floor it!

Thats an understatement!! My 285's will just light w/o even flooring it.

I'm getting real tempted to splurge on a brand new torque converter now!!...

Bumpin this old thread. I bought an escalade and just through the sc in the garage since I got so sick of it. Well I finally got it back out the other day, I used it to go on a trip (better gas milage) and I still can't freakin peel out. Ive put almost 2,500 miles on it. I'm going to try cleaning the ignition coil off ( I seen that in another post today).

Oh and btw, no I can't do a brake stand. It just revs up, but doesn't peel out.

Everything else on the car seams fine, I was on a long stretch road and got it up to 140mph for a few minutes. Had no problems at all.
