Default tax time is on its way!

I have an empty 93 auto sc300 shell and i have no idea what to do with it. I am mosty likely going to be on a budget of about $2000-2500, i can either go for 2jzge/w58 and swap everything to manual or go the gte way and keep it auto. Seeing as this will be my daily i am leaning towards reliability and staying non turbo, this is a really hard decision to make. Anyone enjoy there 2jzge/w58 combo?

OP, it depends on what you want long term from your SC.

Any GTE swap or NA-T conversion can be very satisfying done right. An Aristo 2JZGTE w/A340E Automatic is a proven combination. So is a 1JZ VVT-i Auto.

However, a 2JZ-GE + W58 + LSD combination can also be a lot of fun if you like a car's driving experience over sheer horsepower.

For only $2500 my vote goes to the NA 2JZ-GE w/W58 from an SC/MKIV (not MKIII or MKII Supra). It should be a more affordable goal near that ballpark and plenty of fun for a DD. Add an LSD to the car later and it becomes a very fun combination.

Shame you don't already have an engine in the car though. That will add to your cost.

All the things suspension and braking related that you would modify on your SC to get the most out of the chassis with just 220hp would also be prerequisite things you would want to apply to any turbo engine swap or conversion anyway.

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply and i completly agree, i have been thinking all day of just enjoying my car instead of trying to get big hp numbers. My car has sat for about 2 1/2 years due to money going towards employment priorities, and i am just ready to drive. The ge/w58 engine i am looking at is out of a supra, i have been trying to find a sc300 ge/w58 combo but with 0 luck.
