Default 92 SC400 doesn't recognize key circuit to start???

My wife's 92 SC400 started up the other day, she got half way down the driveway and it stopped. It'll crank and act like it wants to start but seems like it's not getting any fuel. I had it towed to the shop that normally works on it, they agreed that it's not getting fuel and that the car doesn't recognize the key circuit?

Anyrate, they can't diagnose any further than that and recommended the Toyota dealer in town. I don't have the tools or the time to troubleshoot the car which is why I had it taken to them but does anyone know what it could be? The ECU is what the Parts Department Mgr. said it could be, which is what I would guess they'd say since it's $1300 plus labor. Looking through a few posts I could go with a used potentially good ECU or have the old one rebuilt.

Anything to go on would be appreciated, thanks!

The 92/93 definitely don't have a Electronic key because i have a plain key and it starts fine
I would go check fuel pump or the fuel ecu

Default Thanks

I knew it didn't have a chipped key with the age. The problem is that I don't have the tools to troubleshoot the ecu's but the shop the car is at now ruled out the fuel pump. Anyrate, I'm going to have it towed to Toyota and see what they come up with.

Will post fix.

As SC3coupe said, check fuel pump ecu (located rear seat driver side quarter panel) before replacing Engine ECU. If fuel pump is good. bypass fuel pump ecu, like apply direct 12v to pump...if car runs , then its the fuel pump ecu that is the problem.
