Unhappy Clunk when turning (video)

Any ideas? 3 different angles.

I could be mistaken as to where it's coming from, but it sounds like a control arm bushing or tie-rod joint.

Hmm I used to get a big CLUNK while going forward to reverse and it was a control arm bushing but your example isn't so profound as mine was. Have you tried making sure all nuts/bolts were tight? I would still assume a tie rod since its specific to the wheel turning?? Not positive.

From your video I see a little movement in the engine cradle. Check all of the engine cradle bolts. If they are all good and tight. Have some one get in the car and turn the wheel while you Stick a screwdriver to different components while sticking your ear to the handle and listen. Hope any of this helps.

^^The engine cradle bolts will almost always be loose on SC's after a long while of not being tightened. Believe it or not, tightening those cradle bolts are considered "maintenance" in the SC service manual.

I would check the subframe bolts like others have suggested.

take a look at your power steering rack? mine did that the day I got it and the bushings were GONE. apparently, its a pretty popular thing that happens with SC's.

PROBLEM: Steering rack was moving due to mis-torqued bolts and bushings. Pivot joint was moving upon steering column rotation, causing aforementioned sound.

SOLUTION: Tightening all bolts/bushings to ~60ft/lbs eliminated movement on pivot joint and lateral movement on rack, silencing any noises and fixing an earlier issue with a "moving center point" in steering.
