If price is not an issue then go v160 or r154 if you plan to boost it later...if not then the W58 will work fine

Nissan CD009 swap is the "new kid on the block". Many LOVE this swap. I am considering it as well.

I have it on good authority that you can find a full set of parts that will just bolt right in to a 300 and work as if Lexus designed them for the car...

It is a great option for high HP cars. Cheaper than the V160 and similarly priced to the R154. Stronger than the W58 and R154. Holds over 1000hp and is 6 speed. Needs kit with adapter plate, clutch and more. Only logical for high hp applications in my opinion.
My car is being NA/T right now. Ill keep it low boost until I replace the W58 with the CD tranny. On that day, I can turn up boost and have some read fun!

well the time has come... only I got new questions now... I ended up getting a 91 lexus with the stock w58 manual 5 speed in it. was talking to my buddy and he said the engine is also ideal due to there being no VVT... so im curious... would the reward outweigh the risk in just swapping engine and trans? and would I just be able to swap the ECU... Wiring....and trans, or would it be too much of a headache.. Also is there a step by step guide on how to swap from auto to manual....searched on here couldn't find anything any and all advice is much appreciated. Thanks!

check my build thread for step by step in swapping cd009 trans in:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/bui...1jz-sc400.html

As far as swapping engine out with trans, it depends which way you want to go. You could just go NA-T, or you could by an aristo 2jzgte and swap that in. It depends which way you want to go and the health of the motor that's currently in your car

Well later down the road I am looking to add a turbo... so that's the route I'm looking to take and as far as the health both are in pretty good shape. I just was curious is I could swap everything being that the ecu.. engine trans and harness and be good as far as that goes

well hes asking for the best so the easiest is to just get a 2jzgte v160 swap and its all plug and play but if hes willing to cut and drill to get things to fit with a load more work then a cd009 is the next best option. but be aware, supra parts are very expensive
